Igbo values & beliefs

Igbos view time as cyclical, shaped by both visible and unseen forces, and measured by significant events rather than clocks. The principle of "right is might" is central, symbolized by the ofo, a sacred object embodying truth, purity, justice, and authority. We value and hold on to precedent established by our ancestors and pass on the same to the next generation. Belief in the Supreme Being, Chukwu/Chineke (the creator of the visible and invisible worlds) sum up our fundamental belief as a people.
